When Anthony Lewis, then a columnist at The New York
Times
, was asked of what he was most proud, he spoke
humbly of his responsibility to inform and educate others
and the ultimate impact that reporting the truth has on
others.

In his own words:

"I actually do [think the articles on Bosnia are important],
because I think it did make a contribution, and it significantly,
within journalism, helped to build the pressure that eventually
led Clinton to do something....It made some difference, and
so I value that....I’m proud of the stories that won the [Pulitzer]
prize....Not for the prize, but because they saved somebody’s life."
